ICE Releases From Jasper Custody

- If the A-number is unknown, enter the required biographical details exactly and test lawful name variants.
- Read the result by its ICE label and note the facility or recent-release status. Capture the access date because data can change.

Use only the identifiers needed to make the match. Similar names and transliteration can cause errors. Keep the A-number distinct from a Jasper booking number, TDCJ number, SID, or BOP register number. Those systems do not share one universal inmate ID.

An ICE recent-release result says nothing about a later local arrest, state sentence, or federal criminal case. Likewise, a county release timestamp can precede ICE intake. Label each date with its custodian so the Sheriff event is not mistaken for the ICE event.
Jasper ICE Detainer Transfers
An ICE detainer asks another law-enforcement agency for notice and custody for up to 48 hours beyond the time the person would otherwise be released, so ICE can assume control. The federal criminal and immigration systems are different. BOP holds sentenced federal inmates. USMS often holds federal pretrial prisoners. ICE administers immigration detention. A person can move between systems, but an ODLS result should never be used to describe BOP or county custody.

Several similar words describe different legal and physical events. Repeat the source’s own term before explaining it. Avoid compressing county release, ICE transfer, and ICE release into one date.

ICE, BOP, and TDCJ Differences
Use the custodian named in the record. TDCJ applies to a Texas prison transfer and later state release. BOP applies to a federal prison sentence. ICE applies to immigration detention. Jasper County Jail applies to local booking and the county custody end.
If BOP reports “Not in BOP Custody,” the person could still be with ICE or another agency. If ICE shows recent release, the person could later enter local or state custody.
