Jasper Booking Photos and Release
A booking photograph documents appearance during intake. It is not a current portrait and does not establish what happened in court. Release also has several meanings. The person may have posted bond, completed a sentence, transferred to TDCJ, or moved to another agency. Pair the image with the booking number, arrest date, release reason, and court disposition.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs public-information requests and exceptions. Section 552.029 lists a TDCJ photograph among specified department information, but that does not make every county image available online. The responsible agency decides disclosure and redaction under the law.
Jasper Released Mugshot Sources
No verified Jasper County, Texas online booking-photo archive was found as of August 2, 2026. The official request channel is therefore the best local source. Other channels have narrower scope and must be labeled.
| Channel | Photo status | How to access |
|---|---|---|
| Sheriff website | No verified web archive | Use Jail/Records contacts |
| Official Sheriff app | Unverified | Test the current inmate-information feature |
| Sheriff records request | Best local route | Ask for the existing booking image by booking event |
| TDCJ | State-prison image | Use formal TDCJ public-information request |
| IVSS-Counties | Not promised as photo archive | Use for county custody search and alerts |
| Dated news report | Sometimes | Treat as context, then verify officially |
A TDCJ photo is not necessarily the Jasper County booking image. Likewise, an IVSS result or news image cannot prove a later release. Keep the custodian and date attached to each image.
Does Jasper’s Sheriff App Show Mugshots?
The official Jasper County Sheriff, Texas app advertises “inmate information.” Its Apple listing and Google Play listing do not promise booking photographs, recent-release records, release dates, or a historic archive. Those features must be tested in the live app rather than assumed.
The official app listing confirms an inmate-information channel.

The county Sheriff page exposes no verified web roster. If the app displays a photo, capture the event date and booking number, then ask Records for the official image and release record. The 24-Hour Releases page explains why no Texas same-day feed should be inferred.
Request a Jasper Booking Photo
Sheriff Records is the best official fallback for a county booking image. Kim Boutin is listed for records at 101 Burch Street, Jasper, TX 75951, 409-383-1154, and kim.boutin@co.jasper.tx.us. Published office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No specific photo fee or response promise was published, so confirm both before ordering.
- Identify the person with full name and only the birth information needed to distinguish similar names.
- Supply the booking number or arrest date when known. Ask for the photograph tied to that exact booking event.
- Request the related admission and release dates, release reason, and receiving agency so the image has custody context.
- Send a written request under the Texas Public Information Act. Ask for redaction of exempt details rather than abandonment of separable public portions.
- Preserve the agency response and compare it with the proper county or district court disposition.
The Jasper released-inmate record path explains how felony and misdemeanor court custodians differ. A signed judgment can explain the case outcome, but the Sheriff’s record controls the county release event.
Jasper TDCJ Photo Requests
TDCJ’s no-charge inmate-information email service does not provide photographs. For a person who entered state prison, use a formal TDCJ Public Information Act request. The resulting department image belongs to the state incarceration record and may differ from the earlier Jasper jail photo.
First confirm the TDCJ number and conviction county through the offender search. Request the photo from TDCJ only when the state-prison record is the intended source. A county-only arrest does not become a TDCJ image merely because it occurred in Texas.
News Images Need Release Context
Regional news may publish a Sheriff-supplied image in a dated report. That can show that an image was published in connection with a past arrest. It does not establish present custody, guilt, conviction, or release. Compare the article date and named agency with Sheriff records and the correct clerk’s judgment.
Commercial galleries and data brokers are not linked here. Their files can be stale, misidentified, or detached from disposition. An official event record ranks above a screenshot, and a screenshot ranks above an unsourced copy. Avoid republishing an image merely as decoration.
Correcting Jasper Mugshot Records
Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 109 covers certain commercial publishers of criminal-record information. Within its scope, it requires accuracy and completeness, supplies a correction process after written notice, and bars conditioning correction or removal on a fee. It is not a blanket ban on publication and does not force every government office or news outlet to remove an image.
Expunction under Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A and nondisclosure under Government Code Chapter 411 are distinct legal remedies. Release or dismissal alone does not guarantee either. Jasper County’s instructions stress that one of six rotating justices of the peace may have magistrated the arrest, so the correct magistrate and each applicable custodian or publisher must be identified.
For eligible expunction filings, the local instructions state that an agency without an email incurs a $25 certified-mail issuance fee effective September 1, 2025. Providing the listed agency email avoids that fee. This detail concerns court issuance, not a fee charged by the Sheriff to remove a photograph.
Verify Jasper Photo Identity
Match at least two stable identifiers when lawful and needed. Full name plus booking number is stronger than name alone. A TDCJ number, SID number, county booking number, BOP number, and immigration A-number belong to different systems and must not be merged.
Save the official page title, URL, access date, jurisdiction markers, and exact field relied on. Do not publish unnecessary birth dates or protected data. If the image remains online while official records are absent, request the underlying record and check for expunction or nondisclosure before drawing any conclusion.
Match Jasper Photos to Court Records
A booking image gains reliable context only when the arrest event is matched to the correct case. Jasper County’s District Clerk keeps felony judgments for the district courts. The County Clerk identifies the county criminal-record channel for misdemeanor matters. Neither clerk supplies the Sheriff’s release timestamp, but each can show charges, docket activity, judgment, sentence, dismissal, or other disposition when available.
Ask for the cause number before ordering copies. The District Clerk’s published copy form lists $1 per page and a $5 research fee when the cause number is unknown. Email or fax copies are not certified, and mailed requests call for a self-addressed stamped envelope. County Clerk criminal-copy fees should be confirmed before ordering. These court charges are separate from any Sheriff photo-request charge.
Compare full name, booking date, booking number, charge, and court cause number. A time-served judgment establishes the sentence, but another hold can delay release. A bond order ends detention only when the jail completes processing and no other authority keeps custody. The image alone cannot resolve either issue.
Why Jasper Mugshots Stay Distributed
One arrest can create records at the Sheriff’s Office, prosecutor, clerk, magistrating justice of the peace, DPS, Office of Court Administration, and a municipal agency. Jasper’s expunction instructions reflect that spread. They require attention to the correct rotating magistrate and each applicable record custodian or publisher. A change at one source does not guarantee that every lawful copy changes at the same moment.
Begin any correction with the source that displays the image. State the exact booking event and explain the claimed error with supporting official records. For a commercial publisher covered by Chapter 109, use the written-notice process. For a government custodian, follow its correction, expunction, nondisclosure, and public-information procedures. For news reporting, provide the later disposition and request an update without treating removal as automatic.
Preserve replies. If access changed because of an expunction or nondisclosure, avoid redistributing an older copy. A person’s absence from a current roster does not show why the image disappeared, just as an old image does not prove current custody. Official disposition and release records remain the proper checks.
